Investec Limited Issue of Preference Shares

INVESTEC LIMITED: ISSUE OF Class ILRP1 Redeemable Cumulative Non-participating preference shares: ILRPREF1

At the General Meetings of Investec Limited and Investec plc held on the 9th July 2013 shareholders approved the creation of 50 million redeemable, cumulative, non-participating preference shares ("Redeemable Preference Shares") in the share capital of Investec Limited and placed 20 million Redeemable Preference Shares under the control of the directors of Investec Limited and providing that the directors could determine the associated preferences, rights, limitations and terms of such shares prior to the issue thereof in terms of section 36(3) of the Companies Act, 2008.

Shareholders are now advised that, following a successful private placement, the JSE Limited ("JSE") has approved the listing of 217,112 Redeemable Preference Shares, as Class ILRP1 Redeemable Preference Shares, under Investec Limited's Domestic Medium Term Note and Preference Share Programme dated 4 September 2013, for an aggregate subscription price of R217, 112, 000.

The 217,112 Class ILRP1 Redeemable Preference Shares will be issued to subscribers on a 'delivery-versus-payment' basis on the date of listing being Thursday, 19th September 2013 and will be listed on the JSE in the "Preference Shares" sector with abbreviated name "ILRPREF1", alpha code ILPR1 and ISIN code ZAE000183216, with effect from commencement of trade on Thursday, 19 September 2013.
