Interserve preferred bidder for £300m NHS contract

INTERSERVE PREFERRED BIDDER

 FOR £300M NHS CONTRACT

Interserve, the international support services and construction group, is to provide an extensive range of services to the three NHS Trusts of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (the "Trusts") under a significant new contract, the first of its kind in the UK. The contract has a potential value of up to £300 million over seven years.

Under this new approach, Interserve will provide a full suite of support services to the Trusts across 550 buildings, totalling 490,000m2 and nearly 3,100 beds, ranging from facilities and estate management to strategic consultancy and advice, to help the Trusts in their objective of achieving foundation status.

The contract marks a new and radical approach by leveraging the scale of collective procurement for the Trusts. It will support three acute hospitals and a range of health facilities including mental health units, primary care facilities, and community and district hospitals in the area.

The agreement is expected to be finalised by early December with the start of service following shortly after.
