Interim Management Statement
SDL plc, a leader in the emerging market for Global Information Management ("GIM") solutions, today publishes its Interim Management Statement for the period from 1 January 2009 to today, as required by the Listing Authority disclosure rules.
Performance for the first quarter is slightly ahead of expectations for both revenue and operating profit, supported by the positive impact of currency and cost control measures.
On a divisional basis both Global Information Management Technology and Localization Services showed positive revenue growth in the first quarter.
Management considers that the macro economic climate will continue to be difficult in the remainder of 2009. However, based on the defensive nature of the SDL business model and the geographies and sectors in which SDL trades, management views that trading for the full year will remain in line with expectations.
