Interim Management Statement
Communisis plc (LSE: CMS), the expert in customer communication, today publishes its Interim Management Statement for the three months ended 31 March 2010.
Trading in the first quarter has met our expectations, and we continue to progress a number of new business opportunities.
Plans to re-purpose our Leeds Direct Mail business are on schedule. The Hewlett Packard high-speed colour digital platform was successfully commissioned within six weeks of delivery and customers are already seeing the benefit. This unique technology is changing the landscape in the Direct Mail market by enabling our customers to access personalised full-colour messaging at unparalleled output speeds. Consequently the planned removal of some legacy offset printing equipment has commenced. This will result in some restructuring costs before the half year with benefits being realised in future periods.
Finally the second phase of our project to restructure the Group's pension scheme is now underway. An update on progress will be provided at the time of our Interim results in August 2010.
