Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC27 November 2006 The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc THE ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND GROUP PLC PLANS TO ISSUE FIXED/FLOATING RATENON-CUMULATIVE TRUST PREFERRED SECURITIES The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc ("RBSG") intends to issue Fixed/FloatingRate Non-Cumulative Trust Preferred Securities (the "Securities") denominated inSterling through RBS Capital Trust D. Application will be made to the UK Listing Authority for the Securities to beadmitted to the official list of the UK Listing Authority and to the LondonStock Exchange plc (the "LSE") for the Securities to be admitted to trading onthe LSE's Professional Securities Market. It is expected that the Securitieswill qualify as Innovative Tier One Capital for RBSG. It is intended that thenet proceeds of the offering will be used for general corporate purposes.
