Infill Drilling at Nyanzaga

Infill Drilling Continues to Improve Grade Profile at the Nyanzaga Project

Following earlier positive results at the Nyanzaga Project, ABG is pleased to announce further successful intersections on the Tusker resource area as infill drilling continues to show good continuity of gold mineralization throughout the Tusker deposit with further wide zones encountered on several sections, as well as the intersection of several high-grade zones.

Additionally, infill reverse circulation drilling at the Kilimani prospect, some 200-300m northeast of the Tusker resource area, continues to show good continuity of the near surface oxide zones, and recent drilling has also intersected the first significant primary gold mineralization. Further shallow drilling is required to investigate the potential to link up the oxide mineralisation between the Tusker and Kilimani deposits.

Diamond core and reverse circulation drilling at the Nyanzaga project over the last several months has focused on infill drill testing at both the Tusker and Kilimani project areas in order to increase the confidence levels of previous resource calculations as well as to improve the overall grade profile and potential project economics. The infill drilling programme continues to confirm the continuity of gold mineralization identified by the earlier broader spaced drilling whilst identifying several zones with a higher grade profile than previously seen (see Tables 1 and 2). Notable recent intersections include:

In late July 2010, ABG commenced an intensive programme of reverse circulation and diamond core drilling at the Nyanzaga Project focusing on step-out and infill drilling on the Tusker and Kilimani prospect areas. Drilling for the six months from July to December 2010 on these prospects totaled 143 reverse circulation ("RC") holes and RC holes with diamond core tails ("RCDD") for a total of 24,644 metres. The drill programme was expanded in 2011, based on the positive 2010 results, with a planned programme of more than 50,000 metres of step-out and resource infill drilling, as well as reconnaissance drilling, planned across the Nyanzaga project area. By the end of May 2011, a further 198 RC and RCDD holes had been drilled across the project for 45,647 metres year to date bringing the project total to nearly 70,000 metres. Initially, these drill holes tested mineralization at depth and along strike of the Tusker and Kilimani mineralised zones, while in recent months the focus has switched to predominantly resource infill drilling in order to determine a revised mineral resource for the project. The results reported for the 2010 and 2011 programmes to date represent approximately 75% of the holes drilled, with results for a further 79 holes still pending at the end of May.

The principal objectives of the ongoing drill programmes are to confirm the economically mineable resource and to expand the global resource through delineating strike and down-dip extensions to the Tusker and Kilimani mineralized systems, as well as investigating the potential to increase the overall grade of the resource. Drilling to date has identified strike and down-dip extensions to the known mineralised system and continues to identify higher grade zones that may be amenable to underground mining scenarios.

Figure 1 - Tusker and Kilimani drill location plan with the 2011 holes included in this release shown separately. Detailed plans of Tusker and Kilimani are shown as Figures 2 & 3 with selected intersections in this release highlighted. Significant assay results for April to June 2011 are included as Tables 1 & 2, and previous results from Q1 2011 are shown as Table 3.

We are also encouraged by infill drilling throughout the Kilimani prospect (Figure 3), which continues to confirm the width, grade and tenor of gold mineralization within the oxide zone from the historical broader-spaced drilling. Until the most recent programme at Kilimani, gold mineralisation had only been identified in the oxide zone to a maximum depth of 150m below surface. However, drill hole NYZRCDD0353 from the recent drill programme intersected significant primary mineralization within brecciated and strongly altered sediments, returning 12m @ 1.79g/t Au from 143m to the end of the RC pre-collar. A short diamond tail on this hole and a second deeper diamond core hole have been planned to test the vertical extent and orientation of the primary mineralised structure in order to scope out the potential of the system.

Revised 3D geology and grade models, incorporating the updated geological and structural interpretations, as well as the recent drill results, are underway and these models will be updated over the next two months as more data becomes available. We aim to provide a resource update for Tusker and Kilimani by the end of the third quarter, and we plan further drilling updates during the year as the programme progresses and results are received.

The intercepts reported are the down-hole length of the drill hole (reverse circulation or drill core) intersection. Estimated true width is 60-100% of down-hole interval. Intervals were calculated a 0.40 g/t Au cut-off. Less than 10% of internal intercepts were accepted below the cut-off grades and no capping was used in the calculations. Partial sample preparation by ALS Chemex Laboratories in Mwanza Tanzania and sample analysis by ALS Chemex laboratories in Vancouver for Au determination by 50g Fire Assay with AAS finish. Partial sample preparation and analysis for Au determination by 50g Fire Assay with AAS finish by SGS Laboratories in Mwanza Tanzania. Rigorous QA/QC consisting of duplicates, repeats, standards and blanks. Collar positions have all been located using DGPS, and are reported in a truncated grid. Down-hole surveys shown are the collar positions for all holes. Holes and assay results in Table 3 that are in bold text have newly reported intercepts in this report.
