Immunodiagnostic Systems Holdings plc ("IDS"), a leading producer of diagnostic testing kits for the clinical and research markets, announces that is has been awarded the 2008 Best Abstract Award from the Clinical Ligand Assay Society ("CLAS").
The award was given for the abstract entitled "Development of an automated 25-Hydroxy vitamin D assay on the new 3X3 system" which IDS will present at the forthcoming CLAS Annual Meeting being held in Coral Springs, Florida in June this year.
Submissions were reviewed by a panel of judges who rate work on the basis of its scientific value, originality and quality of writing. The CLAS awards programme is designed to recognise scientific excellence and outstanding contributions to the field of Ligand Assays.
CLAS brings together members from a variety of disciplines including those who work in clinical laboratory medicine (as clinical chemists, pathologists, or medical technologists), industry, and academia. It looks to establish and promote high standards in the science and application of ligand assay technology by encouraging research, educating practitioners, and fostering communication and cooperation among individuals in laboratories, in medicine, in academia and industry.
Dr Martha Garrity, Technical Director of IDS, said:
