FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 16 March 2015
GLOBO plc
("Globo" or the "Group")
Inclusion in Ovum's MADP Decision Matrix report
Globo Plc (LSE-AIM: GBO), the international provider of Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM), mobile solutions and software as a service (SaaS), has been included in Ovum's 2015-16 Decision Matrix for MADP Solutions. Globo is recognised as a major "Market Challenger" amongst the 12 leading MADP vendors, with the potential to become a Tier-1 player.
Ovum's assessment of the MADP vendors is based on a wide-ranging approach that includes mobile app management (MAM), mobile device management (MDM), app performance management (APM), app lifecycle management (ALM), and mobile security.
Vendors had to meet a number of criteria, including having more than 200 customer companies; the ability to address midsize to large enterprise customers across multiple verticals; and the ability to support a minimum of functional areas and sets of features.
Michael Azoff, Principal Analyst, for IT Infrastructure Solutions at Ovum noted: "App development has shifted focus from web programming to web and mobile programming. The choice of development platforms and technologies is vast, and this has made the process of selecting a suitable mobile app development platform (MADP) difficult. Ovum has engaged with the leading vendors in the market to produce an Ovum Decision Matrix for MADP, designed to make it easier for organizations to find an appropriate solution". He further added: "Globo is a fast-expanding mobile-dedicated business that also combines a consulting service division that is further enhanced with its recent acquisition of Sourcebits, which brings a lot of expertise in native mobile technologies and in the UI/UX design of mobile apps. Globo can build on its position in the MADP market by extending its capabilities in 2015, and it has a well-defined roadmap to do so. Given its parallel offerings around MDM and containerisation through GO!Enterprise WorkSpace, Globo is in a good position to provide end-to-end EMM capability. Where some of its competitors specialize in only MADP, Globo can aim to provide full app lifecycle management as well as device-level management, coping with a range of different types of enterprise demand."
Costis Papadimitrakopoulos, CEO of Globo commented:
"Globo has been recognised in some of the most important industry reports in 2014-15. In Ovum's recent report, we are recognised for our strong GO!AppZone product capabilities, the breadth of our unique product offering and Globo's innovation and impact in the App Development market. This further supports our belief that our business and product strategy is on the right path with a strong and differentiated market position."
