Adastra Minerals Inc26 April 2006 NEWS RELEASE Adastra Minerals Inc. comments on a reported incident in Kolwezi Trading: TSX and AIM: AAA London, UK (April 26, 2006) - Adastra Minerals Inc. ("Adastra" or the "Company")notes the announcement made yesterday by Anvil Mining Limited ("Anvil" - TSX,ASX: AVM), entitled "Social Unrest in Kolwezi", which reported that "a group ofillegal artisanal miners engaged in unlawful activity in the town of Kolwezi" inthe Democratic Republic of Congo. This incident tragically resulted in the lossof life of one Anvil staff member and one of its external contractor's securityguards. Adastra has been in constant communication with its Head of Security, based inKolwezi, and has received from him a detailed report on the incident. Adastrawould like to reassure shareholders that this targeted unrest has not impactedAdastra's personnel and property and that the Company expects there to be anearly return to normality and for its operations to continue as before.
