Ian Marchant appointed Chairman of John Wood Group PLC

31 January 2014 Ian Marchant appointed as Chairman of John Wood Group PLC ("Wood Group") Wood Group announces the appointment of Ian Marchant as Chairman of the Boardfollowing the retirement of Allister Langlands at the end of the Annual GeneralMeeting, scheduled for 14 May 2014. Ian has been a director of Wood Group since 2006 and has been seniorindependent non-executive director since May 2012. He was Chief Executive ofSSE plc for over ten years prior to his retirement in June 2013, isnon-executive chairman of Infinis Energy PLC and a non-executive director ofAggreko plc. Allister has been with Wood Group since 1991, initially as Finance Directoruntil 2000, then as Deputy CEO and from 2007 as Group CEO, before becomingChairman in 2012. Commenting on Ian Marchant's appointment, Allister Langlands said: "Ian hasmade an outstanding contribution to the Board as a non-executive director, aschairman of the Audit Committee and, latterly as our senior independentnon-executive director. Following his retirement as Chief Executive of SSE, theBoard and the Nomination Committee are delighted that he has agreed to succeedme as Chairman of Wood Group."
