Hyperstone and Toshiba announce cooperation

CML Microsystems Plc, which designs, manufactures and markets a broad range of semiconductors, primarily for global communication and data storage markets, has today announced an agreement under which Toshiba Electronics Europe will provide a variety of Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) design and manufacturing services to CML's microprocessor division Hyperstone.

Hyperstone is a leader in the field of flash memory and solid state disk (SSD) controllers with over a decade of experience in flash management and firmware development. Toshiba's ASIC cooperation with Hyperstone will include design, intellectual property, foundry and manufacturing services. Projects have already begun and first samples are expected during the first quarter of 2011.
