Hunter Urban Medicare Local in New South Wales, Australia will deploy
Odyssey CareAssess
Avia (AIM: AVIA), the developer and provider of clinical decision support and communication facilitation to manage referrals systems, is pleased to announce that Seniors in aged care facilities in New South Wales, Australia now have access to better round-the-clock care, thanks to a pioneering project being staged at Hunter Urban Medicare Local ("HUML").
This project aims to improve the decision-making resources available to residential aged care and hostel staff. It relies on Odyssey CareAssess migrated to the cloud in partnership with Melbourne-based cloud services company, Australian Cloud. The entire project is hosted on Ninefold, the Australian public cloud compute and cloud storage company.
HUML, through its GPAccess After Hours program, is the first site in Australia to use Odyssey clinical decision support systems. This new initiative for residential aged care relies on the speed and low latency of Australian Cloud's platform on Ninefold to offer after-hours virtual decision support services via tablet and mobile device technology.
Odyssey CareAssess has been designed specifically for nursing and residential care homes and draws on Plain's 17 years of experience within the healthcare industry. It enables both clinical and non-clinically trained staff to offer residents the best possible care and support in the event of illness or injury, 24 hours a day. By providing users with easy to follow clinical decision support and advice, Odyssey CareAssess assists staff in making rapid, accurate assessments, selecting the appropriate course of action, and so ensuring the best quality of care. Using advanced touchscreen technology, this intuitive solution is easy to use, resulting in a detailed clinical summary of the patient's needs.
