HomeSend to facilitate international remittance capabilities for MasterCard SendParis: 21 May 2015
eServGlobal (AIM:ESG & ASX:ESV), the provider of mobile financial services to emerging markets, is pleased to announce that HomeSend will facilitate the international remittance capabilities of the MasterCard Send payments platform.
MasterCard Send, launched this week, is a global personal payments platform that facilitates secure payment transactions through a single connection. MasterCard Send, which is now live in the US, enables funds to be sent and received, typically within seconds. Through a single connection to the MasterCard Send platform businesses, merchants, governments, non-profits, issuers and other senders can send money to consumers whether they are banked or unbanked, and located domestically or abroad.
MasterCard Send is an end-to-end digital platform which will leverage the industry-leading MasterCard network, paired with key capabilities from other personal payments platforms including HomeSend.
Stephen Blundell, COO, eServGlobal, said, "This announcement confirms the strategic importance of the HomeSend platform to MasterCard's personal payment proposition and their approach to international payments and transfers."
Through the connection to the domestic platform, HomeSend will have access to the substantial US sending market for international payments and transfers. The World Bank reports that, in 2014, remittance outflows from the US totalled in excess of US$130Bn.
HomeSend, is a joint venture, created by MasterCard, eServGlobal and BICS. HomeSend bridges the gap between finance and telecommunication service providers, enabling businesses and consumers to send and receive money across borders, to and from mobile money accounts, payment cards, bank accounts or cash outlets - regardless of their location.
