Mercator Gold PLC18 February 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 18 FEBRUARY 2005 MERCATOR GOLD PLC ("MERCATOR" or the "Company") SHAREHOLDING NOTIFICATION On 17 February 2005, City Equities Limited informed the Company that it had sold (acting as Principal) 3,125,000 Ordinary Shares of 1p each representing 3.59 per cent of the Company's issued share capital to certain of its private customers. These shares were purchased by City Equities Limited in the share placement announced on 14 February 2005. As a result of these sales City Equities Limited no longer has an interest in the issued Ordinary Share capitalof the Company.
