Mercury Group PLC13 March 2006 MERCURY GROUP PLC ("Mercury" or "Company") Holding in Company The Company was informed on 8 March 2006 that KBC Peel Hunt Ltd no longer holdsa notifiable interest in the shares of the Company, following the sale of26,666,667 ordinary shares of 1p each (representing 25.04 per cent. of theCompany's issued share capital) to Kaupthing Bank Luxembourg S.A., acting onbehalf of Pendana Limited, which now holds the shares as nominee for PendanaLtd. The shares were previously held by KBC Peel Hunt Ltd for the purposes of acontract for difference it had entered into with Pendana Ltd. AccordinglyKaupthing Bank Luxembourg S.A. has notified the Company that Pendana Ltd is nowinterested in such shares.
