Stratex International Plc, the AIM-quoted gold exploration and development company, has been advised that AngloGold Ashanti Holdings plc ("AGA") has sold its entire shareholding of 53,710,219 ordinary shares of 1p each ("Ordinary Shares") in the capital of the Company to Preston Road Limited. Accordingly, Preston Road Limited now holds 53,710,219 Ordinary Shares representing 11.49% of the issued share capital of the Company.

Further, AGA has signed an irrevocable undertaking to vote against the resolutions proposed pursuant to the shareholder requisition (see the Company's announcement of 19 September 2017) at the Company's upcoming general meeting on 1 November 2017. The Company has now received irrevocable commitments to vote against the resolutions from shareholders representing 110,340,470 Ordinary Shares, equivalent to 23.61% of the issued share capital of the Company.  

Proxy votes in respect of approximately 63% of the issued share capital of the Company have been lodged and, accordingly, shareholders attending in person or, where applicable, by corporate representative control approximately 37% of the possible votes that may be cast on a poll. The result of the general meeting is not certain at this point. The Company is aware of additional third party discussions whereby further interests in the Company's voting share capital may change hands which may affect the outcome of the general meeting.
