Soco International PLC19 September 2006 SOCO International plc ("SOCO" or "the Company") HOLDING IN THE COMPANY The Company today received the following notification from the Trustees of theSOCO Employee Benefit Trust: "We have become aware that on 3 May 2006 we lent 1,375,000 ordinary shares(equalling 1.89% of SOCO's ordinary share capital). We thereby ceased to beregistered and beneficial holder but instead became interested in such sharesunder section 208(5) of the Act. We remained interested in a total of 2,273,300ordinary shares being 1,375,000 (1.89% of the ordinary share capital) undersection 208(5) of the Act and 898,300 (1.23% of the ordinary share capital) asregistered and beneficial owner. We have also become aware that on 4 May 2006 we lent the 898,300 ordinary shares(1.23% of the ordinary share capital) thereby becoming interested in theseshares also under section 208(5) of the Act and ceasing to be the registered andbeneficial holder of such shares. Accordingly as at 4 May 2006 we were interested in 2,273,300 ordinary shares(3.12% of the issued ordinary share capital) under section 208(5) of the Act butwere not otherwise interested in any ordinary shares. In summary we have been interested in and remain interested in 2,273,300ordinary shares (3.12% of the issued ordinary share capital) but that interestis now held under section 208(5) of the Act."
