French Connection Group PLC07 July 2005 The Company was notified on the 7h July 2005 that The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.,("GS Inc") of 85 Broad Street, New York, NY 10004, USA was, at close of businesson 5th July 2005, interested in a total of 3,472,127 ordinary sharesrepresenting 3.6% of the issued ordinary share capital of the Company. Of these 3,472,127 shares: a) Goldman, Sachs & Co., a wholly-owned direct subsidiary of GS Inc, acting as custodian for its customers had an interest in 400 shares. b) Goldman Sachs International, a wholly-owned indirect subsidiary of GS Inc had a beneficial interest of 3,471,727 shares in the Company.
