City of London (LSE: CLIG), a leading specialist asset management group offering a range of institutional products investing in closed-end funds, announces that on 8 April 2019 the Company's Employee Benefit Trust purchased 10,000 ordinary shares of 1p each at a price of 400 pence per share. Following this purchase the Trust holds 1,468,283 ordinary shares in the Company representing 5.5% of the Company's issued capital, of which 624,200 (2.3% of the Company's issued capital) is held in custody for employees under the terms of the Employee Incentive Plan (EIP).
