Balfour Beatty plc ("the Company") received notice today from AXA Investment Managers Limited, on behalf of AXA S.A. ("AXA"), that AXA and its group of companies now hold 24,372,605 50p Ordinary Shares in the Company, representing 5.08% of the total voting rights of the Company.

Of the 24,372,605 50p Ordinary Shares, the Company has been advised that 2,734,898 (0.57%) comprise a direct interest in the Company's total voting rights and that 21,637,707 (4.51%) comprise an indirect interest in the Company's total voting rights.
