AMEC PLC08 August 2005 AMEC plc 8 August 2005 Pursuant to our obligations under the Listing Rules, we hereby advise you thaton 5 August 2005 we received a notification (dated 4 August 2005) from FidelityInvestments on behalf of FMR Corp. and Fidelity International Limited, itssubsidiaries and a principal shareholder, Mr Edward C. Johnson, that they hold anotifiable interest in the share capital of AMEC plc of 46,312,814 shares,representing 13.92% of the issued share capital of the Company. Fidelity had previously notified an interest of 47,369,221 ordinary shares on 9May 2005, which at that time represented 14.23% of the issued share capital ofAMEC plc.
