Lonmin PLC06 April 2005 6 April 2005 In accordance with Section 198 of the UK Companies Act 1985, Lonmin Plc wasyesterday notified by Morgan Stanley Securities Limited ("MSSL") that on 1 April2005 MSSL acquired an interest in 5,899,373 shares, representing 4.16 per centof the issued share capital of the Company. MSSL have transferred from time to time 5,899,373 shares to a third party onterms which give MSSL the right to require the return of an equivalent number ofshares. Accordingly MSSL's interest in 5,899,373 shares is pursuant to Section208(5) of the Act. MSSL is a member of the Morgan Stanley group of companies. Those group companieswhich are direct or indirect holding companies of MSSL are, under the terms ofSection 203 of the Companies Act 1985, each interested by attribution in anyshares in which MSSL are interested.
