Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c. ("AIB") received notification on 22nd December 2008 from Bank of Ireland Asset Management Limited ("BIAM") that, as at 22nd December 2008, BIAM held 26,153,355 shares in AIB, registered as shown below; this holding represents 2.85% of AIB's total shares in issue (which, as of today, number 918,435,570 shares, inclusive of 35,680,114 Treasury Shares), and 2.96% when the Treasury Shares are excluded;
