AMEC PLC10 October 2005 AMEC plc 10 October 2005 Pursuant to our obligations under the Listing Rules, we hereby advise you thatwe have today received a notification from Morgan Stanley Securities Limited("MSSL") (dated 7 October 2005) stating that they and the group companies whichare direct or indirect holding companies of MSSL hold a notifiable interest of28,301,154 shares in the Company, representing 8.50% of the issued share capitalof AMEC plc. MSSL state that the interest in 17,535,701 of these shares is pursuant toSection 208(5) of the Companies Act 1985. MSSL had previously notified an interest of 11,370,575 ordinary shares on 4October 2005, which at that time represented 3.42% of the issued share capitalof AMEC plc.
