Balfour Beatty PLC11 April 2007 Balfour Beatty plc ("the Company") has received notice from Citibank, N.A.London Branch, on behalf of Standard Life Investments Limited ("Standard Life")that Standard Life now hold 32,663,527 ordinary shares in the Company,representing 7.58% of the total voting rights of the Company. Of the 32,662,527 ordinary shares, the Company has been advised that 19,354,329(4.49%) comprise a direct interest in the Company's total voting rights and that13,309,198 (3.09%) comprise an indirect interest in the Company's total votingrights.
