City of London (LSE: CLIG), a leading specialist asset management group offering a range of institutional products investing in closed-end funds, announces that on 9 December 2019 the Company's Employee Benefit Trust purchased 200,000 ordinary shares of 1p each at a price of £4.15 per share. Following this purchase the Trust holds 1,679,543 ordinary shares in the Company representing 6.3% of the Company's issued capital, of which 690,094 (2.6% of the Company's issued capital) is held in custody for employees under the terms of the Employee Incentive Plan (EIP).
