BlackRock, Inc.
On 7 December 2009, The Rank Group Plc ("Rank") received notification, under the obligations imposed by DTR5 of the FSA's Disclosure & Transparency Rules, from BlackRock, Inc. ("BlackRock") that, as at 1 December 2009, BlackRock had a notifiable interest in the voting rights attached to 20,700,114 ordinary 138/9p shares representing 5.30% of the total voting rights in Rank made up as as follows:
Indirect voting rights attached to shares
- 15,465,421 representing 3.96% of the total voting rights in Rank
Nominal voting rights arising from contracts for difference
- 5,234,693 representing 1.34% of the total voting rights in Rank
Notes
BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Limited effectively holds the voting rights that are the subject of this notification.
On 1 December 2009, the business of Barclays Global Investors ("BGI") was acquired by BlackRock. The combined holdings of BlackRock and BGI in Rank following the acquisition triggered this disclosure requirement.
