Character Group PLC13 August 2007 13 August 2007 The Character Group plc("the Company" or "the Group" or "Character") Holding in Company The Company has been informed on 10 August that 3i Quoted Private Equity Limited(3iQPE") has acquired 11,525,898 ordinary shares of the Company from 3i Groupplc (directly) and 3i Investments plc (indirectly). As a result of this change, 3iQPE now has approximately 25.93% of the currentissued share capital in the Company of 44,449,937 ordinary shares (excluding the1,000,000 ordinary shares in the Company held in treasury). 3i Group plc and/or 3i Investments plc now no longer have an interest in theshares of the Company. Richard King, Executive Chairman, the Character Group said: "We are pleased to note that 3i have decided that their investment in Characteris more suited to be held by their new investment vehicle, 3i Quoted PrivateEquity Limited, which has recently been listed on the Main market of the LondonStock Exchange.
