Cathay International Holdings Ld30 January 2007 Holding(s) in Company Cathay International Holdings Ld30 January 2007 CATHAY INTERNATIONAL HOLDINGS LTD (the 'Company') The Company was informed on 27 January 2007 that: Simon Phillips now has an interest in 21,708,993 common shares in the Company,representing 8.22 per cent of the total number of common shares in the Company. In addition, Mr Phillips has an unchanged interest in 92,075 A shares in theCompany representing 0.78 per cent of the total number of A Shares of theCompany. The A Shares are not admitted to trading on a regulated or prescribed market andno application has been made for the A Shares to be admitted to the OfficialList of the United Kingdom Listing Authority or any other market. The A Sharesand the Common Shares rank equally in all respects save that each A Sharecarries 20 votes and each Common Share carries one vote. The A Shares areconvertible into Common Shares on a one for one basis and approval was receivedin 2001 for a block listing of the Common Shares resulting from conversion ofthe A Shares. Accordingly, the total shareholding of Mr. Phillips in the Company representseffectively 4.70% of the total voting rights in the Company.
