Vedanta Resources PLC26 May 2006 Vedanta Resources plc Notification of substantial interest Vedanta Resources plc (the 'Company') announces that it has been notified byWellington Management Company LLP ('Wellington'), that Wellington currentlyholds, in the aggregate 14,778,999 ordinary shares, or 5.15% of the issuedordinary share capital of the Company. This represents an increase of 0.76%since their last notification on 19 May 2006. Wellington acquired the interests in shares for separate accounts in itscapacity as discretionary investment manager to, and solely for the benefit of,the accounts and the interests were acquired solely for investment purposes.
