Holding(s) in Company

AMEC plc

In accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rules (DTR) 5, we have received a notification from BlackRock, Inc stating that, as at 22 July 2011, they held a notifiable interest of 36,457,832 shares in AMEC plc, which represents 10.98% of the voting rights in the Company. This holding comprises an indirect holding of 35,144,253 (10.58%) and a CFD holding of 1,313,579 (0.40%).

The reasons for the notification are stated as: "An acquisition or disposal of voting rights" and "An acquisition or disposal of instruments with similar economic effect to qualifying financial instruments".

The notification states that the threshold that has been crossed or reached is that the holding has gone below 11%.

The notification also states that the chain of controlled undertakings through which the voting rights are effectively held is BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Limited.
