HSBC Bank plc - that, as at the close of business on 11 March 2005, it wasinterested in 48,571,200 Ordinary Shares (3.25% of the Company's issued ordinaryshare capital) of which 221,501 Ordinary Shares were of the kind described in S.208(5) of the Companies Act 1985. The holding company, HSBC Holdings plc, wasalso interested in the 48,571,200 Ordinary Shares by virtue of S. 203 of theAct. The Company was also advised that 511,317 Ordinary shares are held by andregistered in HSBC Global Custody Nominee (UK) Ltd and the registered holder ofthe balance of 48,059,883 Ordinary Shares is unknown. 3. Deutsche Bank AG London (the branch of Deutsche Bank AG a corporationdomiciled in Frankfurt, Germany) advised that Deutsche Bank AG and itssubsidiary companies have an interest in 49,346,051 Ordinary Shares amounting to3.3% of the Company's current issued ordinary share capital. Note: the current total issued ordinary share capital of the Company is1,493,843,236 Ordinary Shares.
