AMEC PLC14 October 2005 AMEC plc 14 October 2005 Pursuant to our obligations under the Listing Rules, we hereby advise you thatwe have today received a notification from Morgan Stanley Securities Limited("MSSL") stating that, on 12 October 2005, they and the group companies whichare direct or indirect holding companies of MSSL disposed of an interest thatresulted in their holding a notifiable interest of 26,494,695 shares in theCompany, representing 7.96% of the issued share capital of AMEC plc. MSSL state that the interest in 17,352,484 of these shares is pursuant toSection 208(5) of the Companies Act 1985. MSSL had previously notified an interest of 28,301,154 ordinary shares on 7October 2005, which at that time represented 8.50% of the issued share capitalof AMEC plc.
