Holding(s) in Company

In accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rules (DTR) 5, we have today received a notification from BlackRock, Inc stating that, as at 28 September 2010, they held a notifiable interest of 36,551,646 shares in AMEC plc, which represents 11.04% of the voting rights in the Company. This holding comprises an indirect holding of 35,949,846 shares (10.86%) and a CFD holding of 601,800 shares (0.18%).

The reason for the notification is stated as: "An acquisition or disposal of voting rights".

The notification states that the threshold that has been crossed or reached is that the holding is above 11%.

The notification also states that the chain of controlled undertakings through which the voting rights are effectively held is BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Limited.
