Holding(s) in Company

In accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rules (DTR) 5, we have received a notification from BlackRock, Inc stating that, as at 11 May 2011, they held a notifiable interest of 36,107,673 shares in AMEC plc, which represents 10.88% of the voting rights in the Company. This holding comprises an indirect holding of 34,859,793 (10.50%) and a CFD holding of 1,247,880 (0.38%).

The reason for the notification is stated as: "An acquisition or disposal of voting rights".

The notification states that the threshold that has been crossed or reached is that the holding has gone below 11%.

The notification also states that the chain of controlled undertakings through which the voting rights are effectively held is BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Limited.
