De La Rue PLC23 March 2005 De La Rue plc25p Ordinary Shares The Company on 23 March 2005 received a letter dated 23 March 2005 from SchroderInvestment Management Limited giving notice that, pursuant to S198 Companies Act1985 (as amended) by the Disclosure of Interest in Shares (Amendment)Regulations 1993, their interest in the Ordinary Shares of 25p each of theCompany is as follows: Schroder Investment Management Limited have an interest in 35,334,989 shareswhich are held in portfolios managed by us on a discretionary basis for clientsunder investment management agreements. Included in this figure are: (i) 12,244,623 shares registered or to be registered in the name of our wholly-owned subsidiary nominee company, Schroder Nominees Limited (Schroder Nominees), ii) 7,862,081 shares held in (a) unit trusts(s) operated and managed by an affiliated company, Schroder Unit Trusts Limited (SUTL), and registered or to be registered in the name of Chase Nominees Limited, and (iii) 15,228,285 shares neither registered nor to be registered in the name of Schroder Nominees. A subsidiary, Schroder Investment Management North America Ltd (SIMNA Ltd), ismanaging (a) portfolio(s) on a similar basis holding a further 157,800 shares.These shares are registered or to be registered in the name of Chase NomineesLimited.
