HOLDINGS IN THE COMPANY
Fairpoint Group plc ("Fairpoint" or "the Company")
Fairpoint was informed on 16 January 2009 that, on 28 November 2008, Mr P. Latham, a Significant Shareholder of the Company sold 1,376,575 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company. Prior to the transaction Mr Latham held 4,025,794 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company representing approximately 9.39% of the Company's issued share capital. Following the transaction Mr Latham has a beneficial interest in 2,649,319 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company, representing approximately 6.18% of the Company's issued share capital.
Fairpoint was also informed on 16 January 2009 that, on 28 November 2008, Mr J Reynard, a Significant Shareholder of the Company purchased 1,376,575 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company. Prior to the transaction Mr Reynard held 1,344,401 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company representing approximately 3.17% of the Company's issued share capital. Following the transaction Mr Reynard has a beneficial interest in 2,720,876 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company, representing approximately 6.35% of the Company's issued share capital.
