Sainsbury(J) PLC17 November 2005 J Sainsbury plc announces notification of major interests in shares On 16 November Sainsbury's received notification that AXA S.A and its Groupcompanies were interested in 171,221,264 ordinary shares representing 10.06% ofthe issued share capital. These shares are represented by a beneficial interestof 1,497,011 (0.09%) and a non-beneficial interest of 169,724,253 (9.97%), themajority of which, 169,203,927 was held by AXA Financial, Inc on behalf ofBernstein.
