Holding(s) in Company

In accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rules (DTR) 5, we have received a notification from BlackRock, Inc stating that, as at 22 June 2011, they held a notifiable interest of 36,778,984 shares in AMEC plc, which represents 11.08% of the voting rights in the Company. This holding comprises an indirect holding of 35,556,526 (10.71%) and a CFD holding of 1,222,458 (0.37%).

The reason for the notification is stated as: "An acquisition or disposal of voting rights".

The notification states that the threshold that has been crossed or reached is that the holding has gone above 11%.

The notification also states that the chain of controlled undertakings through which the voting rights are effectively held is BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Limited.
