Begbies Traynor Group PLC13 October 2005 BEGBIES TRAYNOR GROUP PLC NOTICE OF HOLDING The Company has been informed on 10th October, in accordance with sections198-203 of the Companies Act 1985, that on 3rd October the shareholding ofGoldman Sachs Incorporated ("GS Inc") had decreased due to the interest held bytwo of their wholly owned subsidiaries. GS Inc was, therefore, interested byattribution only, in 2,816,600 ordinary shares of 5 pence, representing 3.9% ofthe total shares in issue which is 72,209,376 The shares are held as under 1,950,000 (previously 1,975,000) ordinary shares from an interest held byGoldman Sachs & Co, a wholly owned direct subsidiary of GS Inc. acting ascustodian for its customers. These shares are registered in the name of GoldmanSachs Securities (Nominees) Limited. 866,600 (previously 910,600) ordinary shares from a beneficial interest held byGoldman Sachs International, a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of GS Inc.
