Alexander Mining PLC09 February 2006 Alexander Mining plc ("the Company") Holding in Company The Company was notified by Artemis Investment Management Ltd on 8 February 2006 that Artemis UK Smaller Companies no longer has a notifiable interest in the Company's issued ordinary share capital. The Company was also notified by Artemis Investment Management Ltd on 8 February 2006 that Artemis UK Smaller Companies is the beneficial owner of 2,375,000 ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares"), representing approximately 1.8 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary share capital; that Artemis Institutional UK Growth is the beneficial owner of 3,500,000 Ordinary Shares, representing approximately 2.6 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary share capital; and that the Absolute Return Hedge Fund is the beneficial owner of 200,000 Ordinary Shares, representing approximately 0.15 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.
