On 31 March 2008, the Company received notification from Goldman Sachs & Co(under the obligations imposed by Section DTR5 of the FSA's Disclosure &Transparency Rules) that, as at 27 March 2008, The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.("GS Inc") had a notifiable interest in the voting rights attached to 35,528,914Ordinary 13 8/9p shares representing 9.10% of the total voting rights in TheRank Group Plc. Notes Indirect Interests: a) The interest in 35,273,408 shares arose from an interest held by Goldman,Sachs & Co., a wholly-owned direct subsidiary of GS Inc, acting as custodian forits customers. These shares are, or will be, registered in the name of GoldmanSachs Securities (Nominees), Limited. b) The interest in 19,152 shares arose from an interest held by Goldman, Sachs &Co., a wholly-owned direct subsidiary of GS Inc, acting as discretionarymanager.
