On 18 November 2008, Balfour Beatty plc ("the Company") received notice from M & G Investment Management Limited, on behalf of Prudential plc ("Prudential") and certain of its subsidiary companies, that Prudential holds a direct interest in 4.01% of the Company's total voting rights, which includes 3.96% of the Company's total voting rights in which its subsidiary company, The Prudential Assurance Company Limited, is also directly interested.
