HEAVY RAINS IN THE ATACAMA

As has been reported elsewhere, there have recently been heavy rains in the Atacama Desert in the north of Chile where the Group's Centinela, Antucoya and Michilla mines are located. Operations have been suspended, primarily for the safety of employees and others who work at the mines, although some processing of stockpiled material has been possible.

The impact of the rain on the operations is currently being assessed and normal operations are expected to resume as soon as the situation improves.
