Heathrow welcomes new Chief Financial Officer

Michael Uzielli has taken up his role as Heathrow's new Chief Financial Officer from today where he will be focussed on continuing to strengthen Heathrow's reputation in international markets as a pre-eminent global infrastructure asset and building confidence in the financing of Heathrow's expansion plans.

Michael's other responsibilities will include financial and investment strategies and management, tax, insurance, treasury and investor relations. He was previously Finance Director for British Gas and prior to that had a career spanning the investment and aviation sectors including with Schroders and British Airways. He has a strong track record in leading highly engaged finance teams that support companies to make sound financial and investment decisions and in building strong relationships within the financial and business sectors, Government and regulators.

Heathrow has successfully raised over £11 billion over the past decade to transform the airport into one of the best in Europe. Heathrow's ambition remains to be one of the best airports in the world and Michael's expertise will ensure Heathrow is able to exceed financial targets and secure the investment necessary to continue to transform passenger experience at the UK's only hub airport.
