Gas Turbine Efficiency PLC29 January 2008 29 January 2008 Gas Turbine Efficiency plc ("GTE" or "the Group") GTE announces commercial launch of Advanced Fuel & Combustion business Gas Turbine Efficiency plc, a leading provider of advanced systems to enhanceperformance of aviation and industrial turbines, is pleased to announce thecommercial launch of its Advanced Fuel & Combustion business. This business segment has been established organically over the last quarterthrough the recruitment of a team of world-class industry experts. This team hasbeen involved in both GTE and leading Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)product development that has produced over two dozen granted patents andapplications. The business represents the third leg of the Group's strategy to broaden itsproducts and services portfolio in the $10 billion global turbine aftermarket. This business unit provides a range of highly specialised services includingconsulting, design, root cause analysis and manufacturing. GTE is currentlyworking in this capacity with several leading OEMs, which is expected togenerate material revenues from 2008. Demand for advanced fuel and combustion solutions is expected to grow stronglyover the long term as turbine operators are driven to fuel flexible combustorsthat will operate on conventional fuels and on a wider variety of fuels such asliquefied natural gas, clean coal, and bio-fuel blends to reduce costs andcarbon emissions. In addition, many industries want to decrease the flaring ofgas due to tighter environmental controls, the rising cost of carbon allocationsand the value of surplus gas. Senior members of this business unit's leadership team include: John Battaglioli, Advanced Fuel and Combustion Solutions• 27 years, computational fluid dynamics design• 17 years, GE Energy - combustion advanced technologies, nuclear, research• 10 years, owner of gas turbine consulting firm working with many OEMs• Developed a number of patented combustion components Bill Barras, Combustion Repairs• 32 years, Dow Chemical - Dynegy• Director - Dynegy parts and technical services• Manager - Dynegy gas turbine fleet maintenance• Founder and chairman - Siemens 501F user group• Site manager - EPRI research program• Co-founder and President - EXOR Robert Bland, Chief Technologist - Combustion Architecture• PhD University of Sheffield - 20 years computational fluid experience• Siemens - Fellow Engineer, 9ppm combustor program• GE Energy - Technical Leader, 12 and 24K CI combustor program• 25 gas turbine patents Andrew Hamer, Chief Technologist - Fluid Mechanics Modeling• 19 years, gas turbine aero-thermal computational simulation and design• GE combustion engineer; test engineer; design engineer• 10 years, owner of gas turbine consulting firm working with many OEMs John Barnes, Chief Technologist - Solid Mechanics Modeling• 21 years, gas turbine mechanical computational simulation and design• GE Energy - lead mechanical analysis engineer on GE DLN development• GE Research Center - aircraft engine and power generation design• Developed number of patented combustion components Steven Zwolinski, CEO of GTE, said; "The commercial launch of GTE's fuel andcombustion services business is a key part of our growth strategy. We now havethe capability and technology and management leadership to support completesolutions for the industry on a flexible and fast-response basis. As a result,GTE is well-positioned to benefit from growing demand for advanced solutionsthat are not only environmentally friendly, but also deliver value to turbineoperators."
