Many local authorities, major public and private sector employers have alreadyconfirmed interest and are working with Motivcom to develop schemes for theirstaff. Nottingham City Council is pioneering the launch of the scheme for its12,800 employees. Nottingham City Council is one of three major organisations, with a total of more than 30,000 staff, to launch schemes within the next month.Motivcom will arrange and implement the scheme for the employer, includingholding negotiations with the local bus company and the Inland Revenue beforehelping to launch the scheme to staff. The major initiative, designed to benefit employees in terms of cost savings, isalso attractive to both the employee and employer for being a mode of 'cleaner'travel. The Greentravel2workTM scheme has been developed by Motivcom in supportof the Government's Green Travel Plan, designed to encourage commuters to uselocal bus services to and from the workplace in place of less sustainable formsof transport such as cars. The Company has developed this major initiative byadding to its existing, popular p&mm Cycles2work scheme. David Lebond, Executive Director for Motivcom, responsible for the p&mm employeebenefits division, commented; "Many thousands of commuters will potentially beable to save significant sums on the cost of travelling to work and contributepositively to the environment through this initiative. "It will be a highly attractive benefit to both staff and employers who willfind that it not only reduces their NI costs but helps with recruitment andretention. By supporting and encouraging more employees to change to publictransport, the employer will also be able to demonstrate the organisation'scommitment to corporate social responsibility. "This is a major new initiative for which there is already enormous demand.Everyone wins - the employee, the employer, bus operators and the environment." -Ends- For further information:Motivcom plcSue Hocken Tel: +44 (0) 1908 608 [email protected] www.motivcom.com Grant ThorntonPhilip Secrett/Fiona Owen Tel: +44 (0)207 383 [email protected]/[email protected] www.gtuk.com Media enquiries:AbchurchHeather Salmond/ Georgina Bonham Tel: +44 (0) 20 7398 [email protected] www.abchurch-group.com Notes to Editors: Motivcom plc is a leading marketing services company in the business to employeesector providing incentive and motivation services to blue chip UK andinternational clients.
