Grant of Options

Sovereign Mines of Africa Plc, the gold mining exploration company with properties in the Republic of Guinea in West Africa, announces that the Company has today granted Nathan Steinberg, Finance Director of the Company, options over 3,000,000 ordinary shares of 1 pence each ("Ordinary Shares") in the capital of the Company ("Options"). The Options granted are exercisable between 28 June 2013 and 28 June 2018 at a price of 3.0 pence per Ordinary Share.

Following the grant of the Options Mr Steinberg continues to be interested in 1,100,000 Ordinary Shares representing 0.47% of the issued share capital of the Company.

Mr Steinberg's holding above includes 100,000 Ordinary Shares held by Mr Steinberg's son.
