"CREATIVIDAD EMPRESARIAL" AWARD and grant of options

Maple Energy plc (AIM: MPLE; LIMA: MPLE), an integrated energy company with assets in Peru, is pleased to announce that it has won the "2013 Creatividad Empresarial" Award (Business Creativity 2013 Award) in the category of Intermediate Products and Services with its initiative of conversion of arid land in Northern Peru (Sullana and Paita) into an agro-industrial business for sugar cane production and conversion to fuel-grade ethanol and power generation.

The "Creatividad Empresarial" Award is an important distinction in Peru for business innovation and is organized by Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), El Comercio, RPP Noticias and Canal N. The awards ceremony took place in Lima, Peru on 21 November 2013.

Grant of Options

On 30 December 2013, the Company issued 50,000 options to acquire ordinary shares of the Company to Guillermo Ferreyros, its Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer, in accordance with the Maple Energy plc Share Option Plan 2007, as amended, at an exercise price of 26.00p per option, which vest equally over a three year period.
