LENI GAS AND OIL PLC
("LGO" or the "Company")
Goudron Update
LGO today announces that the Well Services Rig 20 has now been moved from the well GY-664 drill site and the Company's application has been approved by Petrotrin for the completion and production of well GY-664. It is anticipated that the well will put to production by the end of this week.
A total of 278 feet of oil pay has been selected in the Gros Morne formation for completion and production. The well has now been prepared by Well Services Rig 20 and work-over rig Altech-2 is being moved into position to carry out the completion operations. The well will be perforated using tubing conveyed perforating (TCP) guns at a shot density of six shots per foot. Completion is being performed with 11.2 pounds per gallon brine and will be at an underbalance at the formation of approximately 500 psi.
The Well Services Rig 20 is now being set up on the GY-665 site, the second of the 30 well re-development programme, and spudding is expected to occur in the next 24 hours. GY-665 will be drilled vertically to a depth of around 3,500 feet at a location some 800 feet to the south-west of GY-664 to test the same oil pay zones as being completed in GY-664. The next four wells, including GY-665, will be drilled back-to back from the same drill site.
Neil Ritson, LGO Chief Executive, commented:
"Completion operations will be undertaken over the next few days at GY-664 and the well will be brought on to production soon after. Simultaneously, we expect the next deep well, GY-665, to spud. This is a very busy and exciting time for the team in Trinidad."
